BREAKFAST

Breakfasts are served family-style at a time arranged with the guest.  Up to three seasonal options are available each week and can be requested at the time of reservation or the day before.

All breakfasts include seasonal fresh fruits, compote, or juice; choice of fair trade tea or coffee/cappuccino/latte, hot chocolate or milk; and home-baked goods and preserves.

We select hormone and antibiotic-free meats, locally grown and organic ingredients, and farm-fresh eggs (cage free), when available. Please let us know any dietary preferences/restrictions when you make your reservations.

Sample Weekend Menu (up to three seasonal options are available each week)

International breakfasts (with meat)

  • French toast or pancakes (buckwheat, whole grain, granola, or plain) and locally produced apple sausages
  • Spinach and cheese omelette with side of ham or bacon (fresh herb, sweet peppers/onion, ham)
  • Huevos rancheros, fried potatoes and salsa, papaya juice (Mexico)
  • Chorizo and scrambled eggs, warm corn tortillas or cornbread (Mexico)
  • Scrambled eggs, with fried polish sausage, potatoes/onions/peppers (Poland)
  • Scrambled eggs with sasaka (garlic-flavored bacon bits) and fried polenta (Austria)
  • Cheese blintzes with carmelized apples/maple syrup and breakfast sausage (Eastern European)
  • Easter breakfast – reinling, ham, sausage, and hard-boiled eggs (Austrian)
  • Gravlax or smoked salmon spread with bagels/rye, sliced onions/chives, tomatoes (Scandanavian)
  • Quiche with seasonal vegetables (French)
  • Frittata with seasonal vegetables (Italian)


Meatless

  • Spanish-style tortilla (potato omlette), cherry tomatoes, fresh-squeezed Valencia oranges (Spain)
  • Pancakes with strawberries or blueberries and fresh whipped cream
  • Whole grain pancakes (with added cinnamon, cardamom, applesauce, blueberry, pumpkin, and/or banana), homemade maple syrup, soy breakfast patties
  • Cheese blintzes with caramelized apples
  • Apple or Kaiserschmarrn (puffy, shredded pancake) with fruit compote (Austria)
  • Crepes with homemade preserves, soft-boiled egg and toast (Austria)
  • Apple fritters, sausage or bacon, and homemade maple syrup
  • Whole grain scones with fruit preserves or cheese
  • Fresh breads with butter, preserves, fruit and cheese or yogurt
  • Spanish-style tomato and olive oil toast
  • Peach and blackberry bread pudding and yogurt
  • Whole wheat scones with preserves and whipped cream (Ireland, Britain)
  • Cuban-style grilled bread/bagel with choice of eggs


Vegan (upon request)

  • Whole grain cereal with fresh fruit, soy or rice milk
  • Whole grain apple-pecan, blueberry, pumpkin, and/or banana pancakes, syrup, and soy breakfast patties
